The vertical steel column receives diagonal bracing members framing into a gusset connection assembly. A one-half-inch gap separates adjacent structural elements at the top. Fillet welds of one-quarter-inch size secure the connection plates with typical four-inch spacing. Field weld symbols and reference callouts direct the contractor to related sheets S5.11 and S6.22.
