This elevation detail shows a hollow structural section column supported by a base plate sized per schedule, set atop a concrete footing with anchor bolts. A column blockout is provided to allow the slab on grade to be poured before erection of the columns. Number four dowels are spaced at twelve inches on center around all four sides of the column minimum, supplemented by continuous slab reinforcement or two number five minimum trim bars. Additional slab reinforcement is placed as sized per plan at the top of the slab, with a six inch minimum dimension maintained at the blockout edges.
