An HSS6x structural steel post connects to a concrete slab via a welded embed plate and a slotted plate assembly. A half-inch thick by eight-inch square embed plate with four half-inch diameter by four-inch headed concrete anchors cast on a six-inch by six-inch pattern anchors the post to the underside of the concrete slab. A three-eighths thick by six-inch by five-inch connection plate featuring thirteen-sixteenths by two-and-three-quarter-inch vertical slotted holes is welded to the HSS post with a three-sixteenths fillet weld. Two three-quarter-inch diameter A307 thru-bolts spaced at three inches secure the post connection through the slotted plate.
