A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel column and steel beam through a gusset plate sized per the brace requirements. Stiffener plates are provided on the near side and far side of both the column and the beam as required by the manufacturer. The gusset plate and beam connection are field or shop welded using specified weld sizes and lengths. A work point is established at the intersection of the framing centerlines. The steel column and steel beam sizes are determined per plan.
