A structural steel frame column connects to a foundation base plate with anchor bolts and square plate washers. A buckling-restrained brace gusset plate ties into the column web and is welded with a five-sixteenths inch fillet weld on four sides typically. Additional anchor bolts are provided as required to maintain maximum bolt spacing based on the required gusset length with a minimum of six bolts. A complete joint penetration weld with a backing bar connects members at the top.
