A gusset plate connects the diagonal brace to the column flange and the underside of the beam bottom flange. The work point for the brace is located at the center of the column and half the actual beam depth from the top. Stiffener plates are provided inside the column web and beam web as indicated by the typical notes. Field welds secure the gusset plate to both the column and the beam with sizes specified per schedule.
