A structural steel column bears on a concrete footing with anchor bolts and a base plate, surrounded by concrete encasement reinforced with vertical bars at each corner and horizontal ties spaced at twelve inches on center. The column centerline and footing centerline coincide unless otherwise noted on drawings. Additional requirements are referenced to the typical steel column footing detail, maintaining a minimum six inch dimension.
