A column flange transition connection joins columns above and below. The joint features chamfered flange edges before welding, joined with a complete joint penetration weld and double-bevel groove configuration. A weld access hole is provided per AISC 360 standards with a one and a half inch maximum dimension. The intersecting web and flange alignments for the columns above and below are clearly delineated.
