This connection details a beam framing into the weak axis of a wide flange column using shear plates and top and bottom stiffener plates. The stiffener plates are sized at 1/2 inch for 1/4 inch shear plates, and 3/4 inch for 3/8 inch shear plates. Plate sizes and bolting are specified per plan and coordinate with the column flange width. Spacing increments vary at 4 inches, 5 inches, and 6 inches depending on flange widths greater than 9 1/2 inches.
