A three-quarter-inch thick filler gusset plate fits between the roof joist bottom chord members and extends into a hollow structural section hanger sized per plan. The truss web is sloped to match the hollow structural section hanger, accompanied by truss bracing installed as needed. Connections are secured with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds.
