A cable brace connects to a steel beam using a five-by-five-inch plate of five-sixteenths-inch thickness, secured with one three-eighths-inch-diameter A307 bolt. A galvanized heavy wire rope thimble and a two-inch square by one-quarter-inch washer plate interface with the cable. The assembly includes a cable with wire rope clips. Three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds attach the connection plates to the structural steel beam.
