A concrete slab edge thickens at an exterior transition to asphalt or concrete paving. The thickened edge features number four continuous reinforcing bars alongside number four bars with standard hooks spaced at eighteen inches on center. The concrete slab rests on a compacted aggregate base and subgrade. Adjacent paving materials are specified per civil drawings.
