A wide-flange beam connects to a support with a one-quarter span spacing unless otherwise noted per plan, leaving a one-half-inch gap at the joint. A connection plate features a thickness equal to the web thickness plus one-quarter inch. Bolts join the plate using sizes and quantities specified in the non-moment beam connection schedule. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld is applied on three sides of the plate.
