A reinforced concrete curb is cast monolithically on a concrete slab on steel deck with a roughened construction joint surface. The assembly features a continuous number five reinforcing bar at the top, a number four reinforcing bar at ten inches spacing, and alternating hooked reinforcing bars extending into the deck. Vertical stirrups or ties are spaced at nine inches on center when depth exceeds ten inches, or at twelve inches on center when depth is less than or equal to ten inches. A one-inch clear dimension is maintained at the base with a maximum curb height dimension of two feet six inches.
