Concrete masonry unit walls require vertical reinforcement per plan with a minimum one-half inch clearance. Horizontal reinforcement occurs at specified courses, and construction joints must be roughened and cleaned. Cleanouts are provided at vertical reinforcement locations where the pour height exceeds five feet.
