A hollow structural section column is welded to a one-half-inch steel base plate using a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. The assembly is secured with two one-half-inch diameter by three-and-three-quarters-inch embedment expansion anchors placed symmetrically. A note allows the contractor the option to provide cast-in-place anchor bolts matching the diameter and embedment depth of the expansion anchors.
