A continuous HSS3x3x1/4 structural steel tube bears directly on a wide-flange beam, supporting roof deck flutes above. The roof deck requires a minimum two-inch bearing width on each side of the support. Low flutes of the metal deck align over the beam flange, or high flutes are cut to allow direct welding to the beam. Deck attachment follows standard details referenced on the structural plans.
