Concrete masonry unit wall corners and intersections are detailed with two number five vertical reinforcing bars minimum typically unless otherwise noted, utilizing open end blocks to accommodate continuous horizontal lap splices. At intersections, horizontal bars feature alternate bends and horizontal lap splices are maintained across the junction. Masonry webs require broken shells typically to allow proper flow of grout through the cells. Single mat and double mat wall configurations are both addressed to show proper rebar placement and development.
