A W30 structural steel column supports framing members on either side at Level 1, established at zero feet zero inches. A W24 wide flange beam frames into the column flange using a bolted shear connection. An L4x4x3/8 ledger angle is attached to the column web or flange to support adjacent slab elements. On the opposite side, a W18 wide flange beam connects to the column. A concrete slab on metal deck transitions with a step down, detailed with reinforcing bars and sloped per architectural requirements.
