A vertical gusset plate pierces a concrete slab on a steel deck, anchored through the assembly with number four reinforcing bars placed on each side of the gusset. The concrete slab features varying deck directions and slab reinforcement per schedule, maintaining a minimum of number four bars at twelve inches spacing. Fillet welds connect the gusset plate at the top of the steel beam flange. The top of concrete elevation is marked alongside the steel framing.
