This assembly features a stainless steel L3x3x1/4 angle embedded into the concrete trench edge, anchored by 1/2-inch diameter by 5-inch long stainless steel headed stud anchors spaced at 24 inches on center around the trench perimeter. A continuous stainless steel 1/4-inch bar stock is welded to the top of the angle with a 1/8-inch fillet weld to provide a bearing surface for the stainless steel cover plate. A continuous number 4 reinforcing bar is positioned tight to the stud anchors within the concrete pour to provide additional reinforcement at the embed location.
