Concrete grade beam and stem wall reinforcement configurations surround utility pipe penetrations. Top reinforcing bars bend with standard hooks around sleeves, supplemented by two number five by five-foot side bars at each side and additional number four stirrups. Side faces receive two number five by six-foot side bars maintaining a three-inch clear cover at the bottom and two-inch clear cover elsewhere. Pipe sleeves are sized two inches larger than the outside diameter of the pipes. Pipes located three feet or less below the footing require a concrete encasement sleeve, while deeper pipes require compacted backfill or a stepped footing.
