The stiffener plate is welded to the HSS column and wide flange beam connection with specific weld conditions depending on root opening size. Condition A applies when the root opening exceeds three-sixteenths of an inch, while Condition B applies when the root opening is less than or equal to three-sixteenths of an inch.
