A structural steel beam frames into a steel column adjacent to a wood stud wall assembly. A one-half-inch thick by five-inch wide plate with six one-inch diameter machine bolts connects the framing, accompanied by two three-by-six top plates continuing per Detail 9. Wood nailers are attached per Detail 4 on SD.2, and double studs are fastened with sixteen-penny nails at twelve inches on center. Framing members include two-by-six studs at sixteen inches on center with Simpson "A35" connectors as shown. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld is specified on two sides.
