A vertical transition of a concrete column through a concrete floor slab occurs where vertical column reinforcement continues through the slab zone with standard hooks and dowels sized per the column schedule. A maximum overpour of one half inch into the slab is specified at the column head, with specified clearances maintained for dowels and slab reinforcement.
