The hollow structural section post connects to a three-quarter-inch by twelve-inch square embed plate set flush with the top of concrete, welded with four three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch welded studs. A separate detail shows a vertical hollow structural section post with a one-half-inch by eight-inch by sixteen-inch base plate secured by four seven-eighth-inch diameter A325 bolts. This base plate rests on a one-half-inch by sixteen-inch wide plate centered on a three-eighth-inch plate, which is supported by a wide-flange beam with three-eighth-inch stiffener plates welded on three sides using quarter-inch fillet welds and five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds.
