Metal deck flutes are cut out where the required stud-to-deck flute clearance cannot be attained, utilizing a sixteen-gauge continuous sheet metal patch fixed with seven-eighths-inch diameter fasteners at twelve inches on center. Additional number four reinforcing bars at four feet zero inches long are spaced at eighteen inches on center at deck transitions over steel beams. Clearances require a two-inch minimum measured parallel with the deck web and a one-and-a-half-inch minimum typical spacing.
