A structural steel beam connects to a girder web with a typical shear tab plate welded with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. A three-eighth-inch bearing plate is welded to the beam web and bears directly on the bottom flange of the girder. Additional plate sizing is determined per table and beam sizing per plan.
