A continuous wide-flange beam is supported on an HSS column using an L8x4x1/2 long-leg vertical angle welded or bolted to each side of the column. The connection utilizes two three-quarter-inch diameter A325 bolts positioned at the bottom of two one-and-a-half-inch vertical short slot holes in the angles. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld is specified on three sides where applicable. Clearances include a one-inch typical gap and a half-inch minimum clearance.
