Open-web steel joists and a steel girder bear directly onto a steel column equipped with a steel cap plate at the column top. The five-inch deep joist bearing end is secured with two one-half inch diameter erection bolts, and the seven and one-half inch deep girder bearing end is secured with two three-quarter inch diameter erection bolts. A steel deck spans across the top chords of the framing members. Stabilizer plates are attached to the column with three-sixteenth inch fillet welds, left unwelded to the bottom chords of the joists unless noted otherwise.
