A steel column is positioned at the corner of a concrete slab, with concrete cast separately from the slab on grade. The steel column aligns with the intersection of two grid lines. The concrete perimeter wall or slab edge wraps around the column flange profile. The assembly requires the concrete to be poured independently to accommodate the steel column placement at the building corner.
