An HSS6x6 hollow structural section column with a quarter-inch typical cap plate connects to structural steel framing. An L6x6x5/16 angle measuring six inches in length is provided on each side at each end. A bent plate occurs at the edge of the slab, bearing on a wide flange beam sized per plan. Fillet welds of quarter-inch and one-eighth-inch sizes secure the steel components together.
