A Corebrace buckling-restrained brace connects to a gusset plate welded to the underside of a steel beam in a chevron configuration. The gusset plate features a thickness tg with a half-inch plate near side and far side, positioned at the work point located at half the nominal depth of the beam. Five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds attach the connection components typically, with specific weld sizes and lengths designated as Wb, Lwb, Lgb, and Lgc. A note directs the builder to reference detail 1 for additional information.
