One detail utilizes a 3/8-inch by 3-inch steel plate across the top flute supporting a 1/2-inch diameter threaded rod rated for a 50-pound maximum point load per bay. Another configuration spans an L3x3x3/8 angle across the bottom flutes secured with two number 8 sheet metal screws, supporting a 1/2-inch diameter threaded rod for a 50-pound maximum point load per bay. A third option centers a 3/8-inch by 1 1/2-inch by 1'-1 1/2-inch plate with a washer in the down flute to support a 1/2-inch diameter threaded rod rated for a 25-pound maximum per flute point load. A fourth method uses a 12-gauge by 3-inch wide steel strap fastened to the flute side with two number 8 sheet metal screws to support a 15-pound maximum per flute point load.
