A wide flange beam frames into a hollow structural section column at Level 02 elevation 84 feet 0 inches. One-quarter-inch thick stiffener plates are welded top and bottom inside the column section corresponding to the beam flanges. A one-quarter-inch fillet weld connects the HSS to the wide flange member typically. Complete joint penetration welds secure the connection as indicated with typical notations. The incoming beam on the opposite side is omitted for clarity.
