An interior structural pile connects into a reinforced concrete mat slab with a top of concrete elevation of 11'-0" and a total slab thickness of 2'-6". The vertical reinforcement of the pile extends 15 inches into the mat slab and is capped with a mechanical anchorage or plate. Additional number 8 bottom reinforcing bars are provided to either side of the vertical pile reinforcement in both directions within the slab. The mat slab contains top and bottom layers of number 8 slab reinforcement.
