A structural steel column base plate and buckling-restrained brace connection anchored to a concrete elevator pit. The assembly features a three-and-a-half-inch Grade 50 column base plate secured with ten two-inch diameter A354 Grade BD threaded rods with five-foot embedment, ties, and anchor plates. A minimum one-and-one-quarter-inch thick buckling-restrained brace gusset plate connects to the assembly with complete joint penetration welds and Grade 50 plate stiffeners. Two rows of three-quarter-inch diameter by nine-inch long welded studs at eight inches on center are embedded in the concrete support.
