A four-inch diameter hot-dip galvanized schedule forty steel pipe is filled with plain concrete and extends four feet above grade. The exposed portion of the pipe is painted safety yellow, or optionally fitted with a safety yellow bollard sleeve and two-inch wide reflective tape at three locations. The pipe anchors into a twelve-inch diameter plain concrete foundation with variable embedment depths of two feet six inches or three feet into in-situ soil, where earthen forms are acceptable if soil conditions permit. The top of the concrete pier is crowned and sloped away from the bollard with a one-inch drop at the exposed edge.
