A hollow structural section post connects to a three-quarter-inch thick steel base plate, which bears on two inches of grout above an existing concrete slab. Four three-quarter-inch diameter epoxy anchors embedded four inches minimum secure the base plate, positioned with edge distances of two inches and four inches minimum. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld connects the hollow structural section post to the base plate. Existing reinforcement in the slab must be field located prior to drilling to avoid potential conflicts with anchor locations.
