A buckling-restrained brace connects to a steel column and steel beam through a gusset plate, with specific gusset thickness and weld sizes defined on the drawing. Typical stiffener plates are welded to the column flanges and to the near side and far side of the beam as required by the brace design. A work point is established at the intersection of the framing centerlines. The steel column and steel beam sizes are specified per the structural plan.
