A steel beam or truss joist connects to a supporting truss girder utilizing a custom plate layout and fillet welds. A half-inch by eight-inch by twenty-four-inch plate is positioned at grid location 23A with five-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Three-quarter-inch by five-inch wide plates are attached to each side of the web typically. A section view X-X details the profile of the connected members and plate positioning.
