A structural steel column connects to a base plate with a welded gusset plate supporting a buckling-restrained brace. A complete joint penetration weld secures the doubler plate to the base plate. The working point is established at the top of the base plate with designated dimensions for column and gusset layout. Supplementary details govern brace and gusset layout procedures as well as doubler plate requirements per the connection schedule.
