Continuity plates are placed on both sides of the column web with thicknesses based on the connected beam flanges. A cope in the continuity plate is left unwelded near the column web per AISC guidelines. Weld sizes and dimensions conform to AISC standards including specified k and k1 distances. Optional welds are indicated for the web and flange connections.
