A wide-flange steel section is cut to rest on a steel plate supported by a column. The connection includes a sixteen-millimeter plate and an eight-millimeter plate with bolted connections tying the members together. Eight-millimeter stiffener plates are provided on near and far faces to reinforce the joint. Additional bolted connections secure the assembly at the seat.
