A stair stringer bears onto a concrete slab supported by a grade beam, featuring an angle connection sized by the stair manufacturer and a three-inch clearance. The assembly uses an L4" x 4" x 1/4" x 0'-8" long inside stringer angle welded with a three-sixteenths inch fillet weld on three sides. A one-quarter inch thick closure plate encloses the base connection adjacent to the concrete slab. Two three-quarters inch diameter Hilti HDI expansion anchors, zero feet eight inches long at five inches on center, secure the connection into the concrete. The concrete grade beam beneath the slab is reinforced with two continuous number five rebar and measures one foot six inches deep by one foot six inches wide.
