A half-inch thick bent plate or angle is provided at the edge of the slab, with an additional half-inch thick plate connecting to the column flange. An L3x3x5/16 angle serves as a deck support, notched around the column with a maximum two-inch clearance. Fillet welds of five-sixteenth and quarter-inch sizes secure the plates and support angles to the structural steel members. The metal deck ends and side laps must be attached to the support angles and plates in accordance with structural notes.
