A bent plate measuring 1/4 inch by 1 foot 3 inches is anchored to the underside of the concrete slab edge using two 1/2-inch diameter expansion anchors with a 3-1/4 inch embedment spaced at 1 foot 0 inches on center. A structural angle measuring L4x3x5/16 by 0 feet 9 inches is welded to the bent plate with 3/16-inch fillet welds at each end and tied into the masonry bond beam below. A typical top of wall gap is maintained between the slab and the masonry wall. Two installation notes provide options for flat plates with welded angles and centering requirements for walls thicker than 8 inches.
