A monolithic concrete drop beam links two slab levels at a single pour construction joint. The concrete slab and reinforcing are sized per plan typical, with top reinforcing continuing across the drop. Beam ties consist of number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center minimum. Bottom reinforcing and beam width are sized per plan, maintaining one and one half inches of concrete clearance typical unless noted otherwise.
