A hollow structural section column connects to a lintel panel through welded steel plates and embedded stud anchors. A three-eighths-inch fillet weld secures the column to a half-inch-by-six-inch-by-one-foot-four-inch plate, while five-sixteenths fillet welds join the assembly on three sides. A half-inch-by-sixteen-inch-by-one-foot-four-inch plate embedded in the panel features four seven-eighths-inch-by-six-inch welded stud bolts spaced at twelve inches on gauge. A separate three-quarter-inch-by-five-inch-by-one-foot-four-inch plate provides additional bearing with a typical one-half-inch gap.
