A bridge expansion joint connection between steel bridge beams at Level 2, set at elevation 21 feet zero inches. The assembly features a steel beam splice joined with a one-and-a-half-inch by eight-inch by one-foot-zero-inch steel plate connected via complete joint penetration welds on three sides, each typical. An adjacent slide bearing and support assembly is provided by others alongside a four-and-a-half-inch expansion joint. Design loads include thirty-two kips dead load, thirteen kips live load, and twelve-and-a-half kips seismic load. Shear tab and bolt information is referenced to typical steel beam connection details.
